Sour soup with the natural umami taste of the fish

500 gram turmeric, peeled and washed thoroughly
500 gram tamarind, seeds and fiber removed
¼ block (25 gram) coconut sugar or palm sugar
10 glasses (2 liter) water

Instead from being grated, the turmeric can be processed into a paste in a blender.
To remove the turmeric color on your hands, rub your fingers with baking soda and wash with soap immediately.
