One of the most popular prizes for the pop quiz in Rasamasa Meetup Foodwar event. Everyone was eager to get their hands on this Samwari. It looked too irrestible!
Deep fry anchovies until dry and crispy, strain.
Use the remaining cooking oil on low heat, and sauté shallots until tender and aromatic, remove and strain.
Sauté bird's eye chilies until tender, remove and strain.
Fry shrimp paste quickly with the remaining oil, remove. Turn off the heat.
Grind coarsely the sautéd ingredients. Put back into the pan with cooking oil and shrimp paste, turn on the heat. Sauté quickly, add fried anchovies. Add in seasoning powder, mix well. Remove and serve.
